Otmen Band Bio

Otmen is a hard rock band from Winchester, Kentucky. 

In a country town where the music is ‘three chords and the truth’ Otmen’s goal when they formed in the spring of 2001 was to create better music than what they knew.  Three years and fifty shows have passed since the band’s inception, and their relentless pursuit of musical gratification has only increased.   

The name Otmen is a derivative of the word atman: the eternal essence of the universe.  Used extensively in many texts relating to Eastern philosophies, atman can simply mean spirit.  Known for their focused intensity and dynamic grooves, the band Otmen attempts to channel that essence into their own life and art.  Nowhere is this more evident than on stage.  Live performances are the band’s specialty regardless of the venue.  Otmen has gladly shared the stage with bands of all genres including punk, death metal, folk, rock, jam, and pop. 

Motivated by an inextinguishable desire to create and entertain, Otmen constantly thrives to improve their art.  Without evolution one is destined to stagnate their natural progression.  The band knows this and uses that energy as a drive to succeed.
